OTHM Level 6
Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management (T&HT) with Work Placement (QCF)

The focus at this level is on the managerial, decision making and leadership aspects of the global T&HT industry. Individuals will be preparing their own project - an impressive selection of work which can use in future career decision making. Course modules ensure fundamental concepts of the current issues affecting the H&TH sector are understood. Also covered is the effective management of a business, making sure they are sustainable, profitable and provide high quality experience for their customers and staff.

Semester 1 -

• Marketing Communications for T&HT
• Working in the International T&HT Business Environment
• Analysing T&HT Business

Semester 2 -

• Using Management Information Systems for T&HT
• Strategic Human Resource Management in T&HT
• Researching T&HT Operations (Written Project)

The modules prepare individuals to enter the next stage of the programme, participating in work placements during the second semester

The course will develop the business skills needed when entering positions within major tourism companies, tourism development bodies, local authorities, regional and national government in the UK and overseas. Upon successful completion of Level 6, there is a guaranteed progression route onto Level 7 Dip in T&HT Management
